Coordinated Compassion

❣️ The compassionate instinct, on which human cooperation is based, has enabled humanity to survive and evolve to this day. In the present era when humans are interconnected by technologies that are being continually developed, we can build a compassion-coordinating mechanism of resource allocation, providing a supportive network for those who suffer from different types of disasters.

With relationship arrangements centered on power uniting among central organizations with a diverse array of expertise, supported by humans in general on an individual level, the future of humanitarianism will head towards the most optimal efficiency and fairness with sustainability.

This image was created by me for an illustrative design contest with the theme ‘Designing Humanity in the 21st Century’ organized by the Red Cross Movement in Thailand. Although the illustration did not receive any recognition, the contest, with its highly relevant theme, was a great opportunity for me as an amateur illustrator to let my imagination roll. (I also got to learn basic Adobe Illustrator skills for the first time. Using the program to create this simple design was a great bliss.)

Thanks to the imaginative freedom encouraged by the competition, the collection of all submitted designs reflects a variety of ideas and interpretations of our human society’s humanitarian work, which is especially interesting considering that the contest was held by a group of major international humanitarian organizations operating in this field. See winning designs here.

As for me, the event motivated me to ponder on the kind of humanity’s humanitarian system I would deem ideal. As a result, I created this conceptual illustration of a systematically coordinated relationship of compassion among humans, where humanitarian organizations function as central mechanisms in properly allocating and channeling resources to those in need so as to alleviate their agonies and eradicate the sources thereof.
